PREVIOUS PROJECTS

Ruhija Medical Outreach, September 2023

There is limited access to medical services in Ruhija and if you are poor and cannot pay, you do not get treatment.  In September 2023, Building Lives International organised a pop-up clinic, staffed by a team of medics who gave their services and medicines free of charge to both adults and children.  Many people came from the surrounding villages for advice and treatment.

Light for Ruhija, May 2023

Gorilla Village Kids School had no electricity so in May 2023 we held a sponsored bike ride to raise money for solar panels.  Now the school has lights and power to charge the school's one laptop.  Take a look at the video.

Distribution of sanitary products, February 2023

Our first project was the distribution of reusable sanitary products to girls living in the streets of Mbarara city.  These girls are picked up by the police when they are found sleeping on the streets and brought to the church in the ghetto to be looked after.  They are crammed into two tiny rooms and the living conditions are dire.  During my visit I sat with each girl as they told me their story and made them each a friendship bracelet as I listened.  Their stories are all heart-breaking.
